Professional Book Design.
Comprehensive Expertise.
Innovative Printing Techniques: I offer unique insights into enhancing the appeal of your book through advanced printing techniques like Embossing/Debossing, Die-Cutting, and Edge Painting or Gilding. These methods not only improve aesthetics but also maintain cost-effectiveness, adding significant value without breaking the bank.
Print and Digital Mastery: My experience spans both digital and print design. With two decades of working in the print industry, I have a deep understanding of the process and maintain strong relationships with professional printers. This experience in the printing industry ensures your book will be printed in the highest quality within your budget.

LOMAXcreative Commitment.
At LOMAXcreative, we believe in a comprehensive, multi-phased approach to book design. Our team works closely with clients to ensure the final product meets their expectations and accurately reflects their vision. We strive to create designs that are both beautiful and impactful, providing a seamless and satisfying experience from concept to completion.
Phase One
Research & Design Concepts
LOMAXcreative will have an in-depth discussion with the client about the target audience for the book design project. Initial design concepts will be developed after this initial research and discussion of the mood boards.
Phase Two
Print & Design
After receiving feedback on the mood boards, LOMAXcreative will start the book design process.
Phase Three
Pre-press & Production
Following approval of the book design, we will prepare the design files for press. This includes implementation of printers marks, adjusting bleeds and packaging up fonts and images. The press-ready files will be delivered to the client or printer of the client’s choice.
Phase Four - Optional
Press Management
If desired, we can work directly with the printer of the client’s choosing to manage final production of the book design. This typically includes reviewing press proofs for quality control.
Phase Five - Optional
Marketing Collateral
If desired, LOMAXcreative can design marketing collateral to help create excitement and buzz for a book launch; social media, postcards, bookmarks, fliers, and invitations are good places to start. If desired, these items can be priced separately.
Phase One:
Research & Book Project Concepts Kickoff Meeting.
In this meeting, we will discuss the client’s business, target audience, competitors, industry, and core values. This meeting typically requires one hour. Following the meeting, LOMAXcreative will continue researching all items discussed to generate initial ideas for the client’s book design.
Research & Mood Boards.
Mood boards include a collection of design elements that provide initial images, concepts, colors and styles proposed for the general “look and feel” of the project.
The first round of mood boards typically includes 2–3 style concepts delivered to the client in digital format for feedback. We then refine the style until we have an approved direction to proceed with for visual design of the project.
Phase Two:
Print Design.

Details for each round will be outlined in the project’s corresponding statement of work but generally include the design of the book cover, interior pages, and spine.
